WHAT DO I NEED TO BE A MENTOR
- Be in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) & Design fields:
We've had mentors from a range of fields, education and research institutes including Swinburne University of Technology, University of Melbourne, Monash University, the Florey Institute of Neurosciences, and many others.
Whether you're a PhD student, a postdoc or an industry veteran, we'd love to have you on board if you're passionate about mentoring students! If you're unsure of your eligibility, please check out our registration form or contact us at contact@brainstem.org.au. - Obtain your free Working with Children Check
All mentors must have a voluntary Working with Children Check (WWC) which can be applied for free as a volunteer - click here to apply. This is a mandatory requirement of the Child Safe Standards (click here for more details) and you will need to submit proof of the WWC when you register as a mentor.
